A new announcement made recently by the Kerala Public Service Commission (KPSC) is that it has released a vacancy announcement for the direct recruitment of qualified candidates for the job profile of Electricity Worker in the Kerala State Electricity Board Ltd (KSEB). This is a District-wise General Recruitment. According to the official notification, there are a total number of 985 vacancies open across 14 districts. 4% of the total vacancies reported shall be reserved for eligible Differently Abled candidates. Those candidates who hold an academic qualification of SSLC pass and a 2-year National/State Trade Certificate in Electrician/Wireman are eligible to apply for this job role.

Kerala PSC Electricity Worker Examination 2026: Selection Process
- District-wise Selection: The Ranked list will be prepared district-wise and will remain in force for a minimum period of one year up to a maximum of three years.
- Practical Test: The proficiency of the candidate shall be assessed in a Practical test (pole climbing) conducted by KPSC.
- Written/OMR/Online Test: If conducted, candidates must submit a confirmation through their ‘One Time Registration’ profile. Admission tickets will be generated 15 days prior to the test only for those who submit this confirmation.
- Transfer Policy: Candidates advised for appointment in one revenue District are not eligible for transfer to another District unless they complete five years of continuous service.
- Special District Rule: For candidates appointed in Idukki, Wayanad, and Kasaragod districts, no working arrangement, deputation, transfer, or mutual transfer will be allowed for at least 10 years, and promotions will be limited to those districts.
